CLIMATE RESILIENCE · WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

Farmworkers are bringing traditional ecological knowledge to climate resilience careers that heal the land while offering better pay and safety standards.

“Many of us bring traditions from our parents and grandparents in Mexico - the knowledge of how to care for land. So they began training us about land resilience. But first, we taught them how we protect the land in our countries.”

IMMIGRANT WORKER RIGHTS

Workers have organized and won: improved job safety, a $2 million disaster fund, commitments to hazard pay, and have recovered $500k in stolen wages.

“I’m not afraid, because I know my rights, as a farmworker and as a human. I will fight until we get what we’re fighting for: fair wages and fair treatment.”

— Valentina Sosa | Trabajador de la tierra, Land Steward

WORKER COOPERATIVES · ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Crews are building structures of democratic self-governance to change the culture of how the work is done by centering worker leadership and safety.

“Here we have better wages and safer work. The trainers look after your safety - your body, your health, all of it.”

— Isidro Rodríguez | Trabajador de la tierra, Land Steward
